The residents of Willets Point, Queens, New York, are not impressed by the borough’s plans for new building. A portrait of immigrants surviving among the demolition. On 12 March (at 19h15), co-director J.P. Sniadecki will be in Eye to talk about filming on the fringes.
New York is not an easy city to live in; anyone living in Manhattan has to have an extremely well-filled bank account, and immigrants washing up on the periphery of a district such as Queens find themselves in a neighbourhood described as ‘the chasm of decay’.
