Blade Runner
Ridley Scott / US, 1982 / 117 min.
One of sci-fi's visually most overwhelming films ever. Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) has to find the human clone Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), who is past his expiration date. Based on Philip K. Dick’s SF novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep'.
Los Angeles, 2019. In the acid rain drenched city, Blade Runner Rick Deckard hunts androids known as replicas who have outlived their termination dates. If they live longer than four years they start becoming attached to life and become useless: after all in the overcrowded urban jungle the androids have to do the dirty work without grumbling about their lot. They should never become too human or, god forbid, develop their own will.

To accompany the première, Eye is screening a selection of other films that turned out to be way ahead of their time – in spite of not being well understood in their own era.
