IFFR 2021
IFFR is 50!
28 May — 5 June 2021
As previously announced in de Volkskrant supplement, the June edition of IFFR would be shown throughout the country, including at Eye. Unfortunately, due to the current measures surrounding Covid-19, physical screenings of these IFFR films in our theatre will not be possible.
International Film Festival Rotterdam is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! IFFR 2021 concludes with a festive programme taking place on 2-6 June. Eye joins in the celebrations with a special, one-off double bill on our Eye Film Player.
Cinema Regained x Eye
On 28 May, Eye offers a special, one-off double bill on our Eye Film Player, our restoration of Van de koele meren des doods (1982), the adaptation of Frederik van Eeden’s turn-of-the-century novel, translated into English as The Deeps of Deliverance, followed by the thematically related IFFR film Amorosa (1986) by Mai Zetterling.
Amorosa is preceded by a not-to-be-missed introduction by IFFR programmer Olaf Möller. Director Nouchka van Brakel talks with film programmer Lauren Murphy prior to the screening of her film Van de koele meren des doods.
